The Chickadee Hockey League is proud to announce the CHL Grassroots Program, a learn to play hockey camp for novice to intermediate players!

Are you a novice or intermediate hockey player looking to enhance your skills and understanding of the game? Look no further! The Chickadee Hockey League (CHL) is proud to introduce our Grassroots Hockey Development Camp - an 8-week initiative designed to elevate your game to the next level!

Off-Ice Knowledge Time: Prior to the 1st, 3rd and last skate we will host a 30-45 minute off ice rundown of ice hockey game-play, the rules and allow for questions!

Focused Training: Each session consists of 1 hour of comprehensive training, with the first 15 minutes dedicated to Power Skating with Coach Harmon and remaining amount of time  to work on essential skills development (skating, passing stickhandling, shooting)

Skating: Improve your fundamental skating technique, edge work and the basics of hockey stride.

Puck Handling/Control: Learn the proper techniques necessary to control the puck expanding from basic hand placements to more advanced puck handing skills utilizing specifically designed drills to build confidence with the puck on our twig.

Passing/Shooting: Learn the proper mechanics behind making and receiving passes, along with all the different shooting options.

We understand that skating, puck control & shooting are all fundamental skills to enjoying the sport, and our program is designed to help players develop these necessary skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Drop-In Rate: $35/Per Session

Duration: 8 weeks (8 Hours of on-ice instruction, 2 Hours of off-ice "Chalk Talk") 

Time: 1 hour per session 

Power Skating W/Coach Harmon: 15 Minutes

Full Ice Warm-Up Drill: 5-10 Minutes

Breakdown: 35-40 Minute Skills Session/Stations

*Additional (3) 30-45 Minute "Chalk Talk" sessions prior to the 1st, 4th and 8th on-ice session.

****Go over hockey rules, positions, game-play strategy and other basic concepts associated with the game of hockey.
