Portland, Maine -- The Pizza Villa Pylons extend win streak to seven, and the Red Wings get back in the win column.

Pylons vs Bucks

The Pizza Villa Pylons played host to the Maine Beer Co. Bucks in a highly anticipated late season matchup. The Pylons came in their 10th game of the season riding a league-high 7-game winning streak. The Pylons (8-2-0) controlled most of the game and skated off with a 4-2 win over the Maine Beer Co. Bucks (5-4-1).

Rob Grygil scored the lone goal in the first period to give the Pylons a 1-0 lead following the first 14-minutes of play. Team leader in goals and points Jesse Desper added a shorthanded goal in the middle frame to match a Bucks tying goal from Ratliff. Desper would add his second of the game halfway through the third to extend the Pylons lead to 3-1. The Bucks were able to come within one after an even-strength goal from Esheverria, but the Pylons answered back just 12 seconds later with a goal from Jon Miller to secure their 8th win of the season.

Whalers vs. Red Wings

The Red Wings got back in the win column with a 4-0 win over a short, staffed Whaler's roster. The Wings came out hot in the first frame scoring three goals unanswered. Sprongis scored his 7th and 8th goals of the season (Peppo with the assists). Ben Walz played great for the Whalers in the loss saving 26 out of the 30 shots faced.  Peppo would add another assist to Leightons first goal of the game to capture the games first star. Adam Casey recorded a 18 save shutout, for his second of the season in the Elite League.
