Piece Corps hang on to win in overtime

Portland, Maine -- The Chicks were the closest of any team to end the undefeated season for Piece Corps last night, but couldn't get the job done in overtime.

As we've seen many times this season the Chicks slow start would be erased in the third. Piece Corp (without Kinsey, Tilliston, Naida, and many other regulars) had to rely on talent last night as their roster featured a handful of newcomer's to the League. That did not hault their league rated number one offense in the Premier League as they got out to a 3-0 lead heading into the final frame.

The lead didn't last long as the Chicks were able to scrape together two goals within the first to minutes of the third. Piece Corps didn't stand down as they were able to tack on an insurance goal for the time being. In the dying minutes of the third, Carrellas scored his 6th goal of the year to tie the game at 4-4.

The Chicks were heating up heading into overtime but a tripping penalty would make the short bench have to work even harder. After killing off the 4 on 3 penalty kill, Piece Corps would capitalize on the exhausted Chicks to score the game winner just after the power-play expired.
