Jiffy scores late to win back and forth battle

by Chad Marescalchi

PORTLAND, MAINE -- Two new team additions to the League went head to head last night, and as for being the only game of the evening it was very entertaining.

Donaldson scored the first goal of the game on the power play for Jiffy. Hunter Mahoney was able to score the equalizer with 5:04 left in the first.

In the second, Jiffy was able to score first again, but their lead would be short lived after two quick goals for Reynolds (6:36 - Arnold, 5:02 Reynolds).

Reynolds & Sons would extend the lead to 5-3 in the third after once again giving up the first goal to start the period. But the two goal lead wouldn't be enough as Jiffy's offense surged in the final minutes of the game and would later snag the victory with a goal from 23 year old Nathan Donaldson with half a minute left. Sean McDonald shined in net for Jiffy in the final seconds to secure the win and start their campaign in the Chickadee Hockey League in the win column.
